Vicki and Chris are keen gardeners, with an existing beautifully landscaped rear garden and vegetable patch. Their brief to us was for a modern renovation to open up the ground floor of the house, reconfigure some aspects of the ground floor while allowing easy access to their stunning garden.
In addition the client wanted plans for a first floor addition drawn up. Their intention was to update the house for future sale without overcapitalising. The objective was to maximise the potential re-sale value whilst appealing to a mass market. The short time frame allowed for CDC (Comply and Develop Certificate) only, as a DA (Development Application) process could potentially have extended the timeframe beyond the requirements of the client.
Two options were prepared for the client, with the second, more expansive option being chosen. This included a small extension to the ground floor as well as the first floor addition.
The CDC was approved, the project constructed and the property was sold within nine months of completion.
The landscaping had already been completed by Joanne Green Landscapes. The Project Architect, Kirrili, wanted to compliment this by using and incorporating the existing material palette.
